Vietnam’s representative Ngo Chau Anh has won Third Prize at Echo of Nomads 2026 in Kyrgyzstan, marking a memorable milestone in her first international competition and drawing significant attention from Vietnamese media.

Representing Vietnam among 20 contestants from 19 countries, Ngo Chau Anh concluded her journey at Echo of Nomads 2026 with Third Prize.

Throughout the competition, Chau Anh introduced Vietnamese musical identity through a distinctive performance combining Xẩm, bamboo flute, Vietnamese folk verse, dance and contemporary arrangements. The performance created a dialogue between traditional Vietnamese music and a modern international stage.

The achievement is particularly meaningful as this was Ngo Chau Anh’s first international competition. Despite facing an unexpected technical issue at the beginning of her first performance, she remained composed, returned to the stage and successfully completed her performance.

A Meaningful Meeting After the Competition

Following the competition, Ngo Chau Anh also had the opportunity to meet Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

The meeting became another memorable moment in her international journey and a meaningful encouragement for a young Vietnamese artist working to introduce the country’s music and cultural identity to audiences abroad.

Media Attention in Vietnam

Ngo Chau Anh’s Third Prize at Echo of Nomads 2026 has received coverage from a number of Vietnamese media outlets. Reports highlighted not only her achievement, but also the way she brought Vietnamese traditional and contemporary folk music to an international audience.
